Vintage micarta—often referred to as “old stock”—is a catch-all term for phenolic composites produced decades ago by manufacturers such as Westinghouse, Bakelite, GE (Textolite), and International Paper, among others. Pinpointing the exact origin or production date of most of these materials is nearly impossible today. What is known, however, is that they were made sometime well before Y2K, and long after the signing of the Magna Carta.
