Field Note’s 65th limited Quarterly Edition for the winter of 2024 is the “Vintage” Edition. They revisited some of their favorite materials, details, and production processes to create a brand-new and old-fashioned 3-Pack.
They have chosen a 100# “Royaltone” stock from the French Paper Company for the covers. It is named “Monarch Red,” but it leans more towards the color of fine wine—perhaps a 2012 Willamette Pinot Noir? The stock features a lovely linen texture that plays well with the embossed “Metallic Antique” gold ink. The inside covers are printed with a geometric pattern that suggests the endpapers of a classic hardcover book.
Interior pages are “dot-ruled” using “Faded Antique Gold” ink on an off-white stock from Domtar. They’re also perforated for easy removal. The staples are also gold. Natch.
