The Stretch 2 XL knife features a blade that is made of DPS15 Damascus steel, which is a unique material consisting of a VG-10 stainless steel core that is sandwiched between two outer billets of Damascus. Each billet is composed of 15 layers of forge-welded steel. The blade is then full-flat ground and acid-etched, revealing a beautiful 31-layer pattern-welded construction. The handle of the knife is equally impressive, with full stainless steel liners and blue Nishijin glass fiber scales that are inspired by a 1,200-year-old Japanese method of textile weaving.
